Description
A 1st pressing of MMT on the USA Capitol label from 1967. Scranton PA factory symbol - Triangle IAM. Terrific full on mono mix - as it was meant to be. Due to the quick switch to stereo these original mono copies are difficult to track down. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover with booklet.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In very nice condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity and minimal interference. All we detected was a touch of light static in a couple of isolated moments. It really is a very well preserved original and sounds very very good indeed - and this is clearly why they are sought after. None of that bastardised stereo nonsense...
Cover (Ex-) Original non-laminated cover which are often found in pretty wrecked condition - this one has survived better than most. The only obvious thing to note is that a deletion punch has made in the top-right and this goes all the way through [cover and booklet]. Other than that front and back are in very decent condition with only light handling wear evident. The interior is only exhibiting some light ageing and looks good. The booklet appears to be taped into the interior, but the central section of the booklet has worked its way free [in one chunk]. All pages seem to be present and there's no tears, or nasty marks - ageing is reasonably light too. The spine is still fully intact and overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
