Description

An original 1st mono press of MMT on the UK Parlophone label. In the UK MMT was original released in EP format - 2 X 7 inch eps. Matrix 1/1/1/2. Most of the 1st pressings will be found in the pop-out juke box version format. Harder to find are the solid centre copies. Importantly all four sides mention the 'Sold In The UK Subject..' text which is indicative of 1st issue. The vinyl is housed in two generic white paper inners. This, intern, was housed in a little mini gatefold cover with photo pages stapled into the mid-section. Please note very 1st pressings must exhibit the blue internal lyric pages. 100% genuine and authentic to 1967.
Vinyl (Vg+/Vg+/Vg/Vg+) In very decent shape for a true 1st pressing. A few light marks per side. The one exception is side 3 where there's some superficial top-level scuffing marks. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals relatively clean playback at the VERYGOOD+ level with one deviation. The only one track which drops a bit below this level is 'Fool on the Hill'. This is usually the fussiest number and will always exhibit some sort of background. It's still perfectly listenable - it just won't play quite as clean as the rest of the EP. Overall a very decent rendition of this highly collectable 1st issue.
Cover (Ex-) In lovely condition and is faring much better than many examples that surface after this period of time. A clean front and rear without fade or creasing. The spine is in excellent order - which is unusual. There's very little edge wear at all and that's difficult to find too. The interior looks much better than you tend to find. Only very lightest evidence of ageing. All pages are intact and are in excellent order having not been heavily thumbed. Those lyric pages are intact and in excellent order. Even the staples haven't tarnished! Overall in excellent order and remarkable to find in this condition after this passage of time. Excellent rigidity and preservation.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits or markings.
