Description

An original 1st press of MMT from 1976 in the LP format. EMI realised quite late on they were missing a trick not releasing MMT in the LP format. In the UK we had to wait till '76 - unless you'd imported a USA copy at the time. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1GG/2-RL. Please note 1st pressings are relatively easy to spot - you need EMI in the perimeter text on the label. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with 24 page booklet attached within. Also included is the original EMI inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) A beautiful copy which has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very light marks each side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of very minor deviations. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with tremendous clarity. The only interference I could detect was a few crackles in the opening sequence of 'Fool On The Hill' and momentarily during 'Your Mother Should Know'. All very low in the mix and anything that is vaguely audible dissipates quickly. Other than that it totally knocks the ball-outta-the-court. A beautiful rendition.
Cover (Ex) This LP really has been looked after carefully down the years. First thing to note is the surfaces are clean and flat. There's not really any signs of wear front or back which is a pleasant surprise. The interior looks great and seems to have mostly avoided the usual ageing problems. The 24 page booklet is fully intact and, unbelievably, hasn't detached from the main body of the cover [very very unusual] . All pages are nice crisp and clean with nothing detrimental. Edge wear is very minor indeed and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is fully intact with all text legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. 
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing and a one inch side split.
