THE BEATLES: ‘PLEASE PLEASE ME’ – AN ORIGINAL 1963 UK BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE MONO VINYL LP – PMC 1202.
This is an ORIGINAL 1963 UK 5th pressing **mono** Vinyl LP for The Beatles Debut UK Album Release ‘Please Please Me’, first released in the UK on the 22nd March 1963. The first two releases of this album came on the rarer Black and Gold Parlophone Record Labels. The first version had the incorrect Dick James Song Credits, the second version then had the corrected Northern Songs version. Then the record label design was changed to Black and Yellow Parlophone Labels with a couple of label variations in between, this version is now listed and documented as a 1963 5th Pressing.
The vinyl disc is on the traditional BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE Label, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Recording First Published 1963’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
The official side 1 matrix is XEX 421-1N/and side 2 matrix is XEX 422-1N.
Side 1 machine stampers are: 14 LA, and side are: 3 HA.
There is a visible embossed ‘KT’ tax code to the side 2 record label.
The LP comes in it’s ORIGINAL Use Emitex Poly Lined Printed Bag and is housed in its ORIGINAL ERNEST J. DAY LAMINATED LARGE ‘mono’ printed sleeve with three flipbacks to the reverse.
The LP plays with great sound quality from beginning to end with NO skips, there is just mild background crackle.
Both record labels are in Excellent P lus condition, superb record labels, showing only a few very light centre spindle lines to both sides, and a little wear to the centre spindle holes.
Both sides of the vinyl disc are in beautiful Near Mint condition, the heavyweight vinyl disc is free from scratches and scuffs, with only a couple of very light surface hairlines.
The Poly Lined Use Emitex inner bag is an excellent example, NO writing or seam splits, just light creasing, and a small tear to the bottom edge.
The ERNEST J. DAY picture sleeve is in Excellent Plus condition. The front panel is glossy with no fading to the rich colours with no record indentation and just a mild bruise to two corners. The spine edge is firm and all print clearly readable. The reverse panel of the sleeve is very clean and white, with just a small crease to the bottom flip back.
This is a superb example of this early 5th pressing 1963 Beatles Original **mono** album, with a superb vinyl disc and sleeve.
