‘Loud cut’

1st press-

‘When Rubber Soul was first released back at the end of 1965, George Martin was not happy with the mixing that had been done to the songs because some of the songs distorted on cheaper record players causing a degrade in sound quality. After approximately 2 weeks, the record was momentarily paused production-wise while he slightly altered the mixes to remove this problem. When he had finished, the production was restarted as a 2nd pressing’

Vinyl: Side 1: VG

Side 2: VG+

Overall the record is in very nice condition.

Clean and glossy!

A few wispy hairlines with a couple of light surface marks which would of had me grading the record at a VG+ throughout quite comfortably.

However there are a couple of small few mm long penetrating marks to side 1.

Side 1:

One mark is in track two and another in track four, both have a feel to them on the surface.

A third mark that has a very light feel to it sits in track 6 but this is barely penetrating.

We have play tested the record which plays through well on both sides, the noted marks (two and four) create a bit of crackle and a pop through a few rotations, no noteable sound in track 6. Just a little faint crackle between tracks throughout.

Side 2:

A good clean playing surface.

A few light surface marks, wispy hairlines but no penetrating marks. Clean surface overall.

No Deterioration in play.

Sleeve: VG+

A good straight sleeve.

Tidy overall...

Laminated flipback sleeve.

Some corner/ edge wear.

Good readable spine.

Laminate is good, a little crease or two but no nasty damage.

Some surface marking and two small pen marks.

A decent sleeve. In good all round condition.

Inner sleeve is tidy. A little discolouration of age, no rips or tears.

A clean sleeve.

In summary a good copy of the record.

Plays through without any skips or jumps. Just a little pop in a couple of areas but throughout the record as a whole this is minimal.

Clean surface. Plays through well. A nice gap filler.

Not a minter but a perfectly good copy with just a few minor surface marks.
