A new stereo mix by Giles Martin (son of legendary Beatles Producer George Martin)
The iconic 60's Cover art was drawn and deigned by Kalus Voorman, was bassist in Manfred Mann, but first met the Beatles in 1959 in the Kaiser Keller in Hamburg, where he and his friend Astrid Kertcher, who later married Stu Sutcliffe (the 5th Beatle) persuaded the Fab Four to wear Black Leather (as he German Teenagers did) with cowboy boots, creating their signature look of this period. Klaus goes back a long way with The Beatles and had a firm enduring friendship! John later recruited Klaus to join him in Toronto the first outing of the Ono Plastic Band
This 1966 Album followed 'Help', at which point the musical press thought The Beatles were 'over' they had conquered America, filled Shae stadium, broken all box office records, had a string of concurrent number 1s and multiple singles and albums in the charts at the one time- totally unequaled at this period With this in mind- the Fab Four went into the studio and produced unforgettable tracks such as 'Eleanor Rigby' (the first time a pop act had used full strings on a single) , experimented with backward tapes for guitar solos and vocals, and a new sound. This album spawned truly beautiful love songs such as ' I'm only Sleeping',' For No One',' Here there and Everywhere', saw George starting to write more, and finished with a children's song- 'Yellow Submarine'- and absolute classic
