Description

Extremely nice copy of Rubber Soul, the 1965 Beatles classic that saw them really begin to flex their muscles creatively. This is the UK 2nd mono pressing and is a really decent playing copy.
The Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve has survived remarkably well and comfortably grades VG++, close to Excellent really. A bit of feathering to the opening edge, a slight bump to one corner and a small clip taken out of the opening edge back cover near the bottom. Otherwise it's clean, devoid of writing or major damage, the spine is square and fully readable and there's really no wear to the top and bottom edges.
The heavyweight vinyl has the usual surface hairlines and the odd mark but these don't affect the audio for the most part, which is crisp, bright and powerful. The one small feelable scratch comes towards the end of Michelle, track 7 on Side 1 and delivers tics as the song winds to its end. Apart from this the audio is close to excellent. As it is I'd grade it VG+.
The black and yellow Parlophone labels are in excellent shape with just a little minor spindle wear. There is a KT tax code on Side 1's label.
It comes in a period lined white thick paper inner sleeve in excellent order.
The matrices are XEX 579-4 and XEX 580-4.
Good opportunity to pick up a quality UK mono second pressing of this Beatles classic.
