Description
The Beatles - Rubber Soul - 4/1 matrix Mono.
PMC 1267 Mono.
Original 1965 Yellow & Black Parlophone Label.
A UK first press album in 100% original condition, featuring a 4/1 ( half Loud) matrix Mono Mix.
The 1/1 matrix ‘Loud Cut’ was withdrawn from sale due to the Beatles Record Producer not being happy with the sound. So it is curious why, these 4/1 matrix records exist at all !.
One thing is for sure that if these 4/1 matrix pressing did ‘bridge’ the 1/1 - 4/4 gap for a while, it wasn’t for long, as these are the most unusual of the mono series to be found, certainly more unusual than the 1/1 Loud Cut !.
CONDITION:
MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front laminate has an excellent finish. The spine is excellent and all the text is clear. The rear of the sleeve has the tri flipbacks design, these are all in excellent condition. The rear is unlaminated and is very clean and white for its age. The sleeve is free from Biro pen writing etc.
INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, it is the original ‘Emitex’ polylined (rice paper) sleeve, it is very white in colour, very clean with NO biro writing.
VINYL: is in very good+ condition and features the original Sixties thick, heavy vinyl, it is dark and has a high gloss. The matrix nos. are - XEX 579-4 and XEX 580-1 making it an unusual transition copy, from the ‘1/1’ matrix ‘Loud Cut’ to the more familiar ‘4/4’ matrix mono mix’. The Mother/Stampers are: ‘ 5 GMD’ and ‘ 6 3 6 GDA’. The audio is very good and it lays flat on the turntable and plays with NO jumps or skips. Unusually the record edge has a sharp edge to it !.
THE LABELS: are in excellent condition, there is a ‘KT’ embossed onto side One.

Unfortunately as you will see from my feedback, I have received one neutral and one negative feedback recently. This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received these two pieces of feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !, I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !
POST AND PACKING IS NOT FREE !
From October 2009 Ebay introduced free postage & packing on records to all UK destinations !.
I cannot offer free shipping by Royal Mail as in some cases it would mean I would be paying you to buy the record !.
Ebay's solution is for me to add the cost of the postage to the starting price of the item !, this would be Ebays gain as Ebay will get more in their final valuation fee ! but this would penalise international buyers. Also, UK buyers buying more than one record would be penalised !, as combined postage would be eradicated.
Therefore, my shipping costs to the UK are as listed below. Please contact me for overseas postage/shipping rates. The postage/shipping rates are not included in the item/auction price.

I am using the official grading system from Record Collector Magazine.
Grading System
The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
+ or – : indicates a grading in between categories.
