The Beatles Rubber Soul LP Mono 2nd Press UK ORIGINAL TIME-TRAVELLER [Ex+/Ex]

Description

An original 2nd mono press from 1965. Matrix 4/4. Probably no more than a month or two from day of release. This is a lovely early copy. BUT most importantly it has survived into 2020 in quite unbelievable condition. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover [harder to find as G&L took over the gig quite quickly]. Also included is an original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. Would be of interest to someone who is after the absolute highest level of playback - this is a bit of a one-off in my opinion.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition with light evidence of use on the labels, but judging by the surfaces and the audio reproduction it cannot have seen much use at all. Under close inspection I'm struggling to make out anything more than a couple of the slightest marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback without reservation. This is highest level I grade at and reflects that - I'm not sure I've ever heard a copy of RS this clean and perfect. Intros and inbetweens are perfectly quiet even at high volume. The reproduction and clarity levels are OUTSTANDING. RS is quite a fussy title in reality. Tracks like Norwegian Wood & Michelle are particularly hard to find playing clean. Michelle - is borderline impossible to find...but I think this copy actually delivers a pretty much perfect rendition..and I'm not sure I've ever really witnessed that before. Faultless in every way....At worst a couple of isolated low-level crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. THIS is the copy that a true collector and audiophile is going to wait along time to pick up. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) Well, I'm pleased to report that the cover isn't too far behind the LP. Lovely shiny flat front cover with only a few insignificant thumbnail creases down in the bottom right corner. The rear seems to have nearly completely missed the ageing process - and that's quite unusual. Those flipbacks are in pristine condition - intact and secure. Edge wear is extremely slight with sharpish openings. The spine is 100% perfect. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Don't think I've witnessed any better in reality.
Inner (Ex) Very little ageing at all. No splits or markings.
