The Beatles Rubber Soul PMC 1267 XEX 579 - 1 / XEX 580 - 4
'Loud' Hybrid Press
Interesting press of Rubber Soul which has stamper numbers of XEX 579 - 1 and XEX 580 - 4 and is referenced on several expert Beatles sites.
XEX 579 - 1 is typically associated with the initial 'Loud' cut of Rubber Soul which was produced for a relatively short time.
XEX 580 - 4 is typically associated with the sonically adjusted reissue, although some suggest it was actually pressed at the same time as the 'Loud' version.
Any pressing with the XEX 579-1 stamper is generally believed to be from the first pressing.
This particular issue has the three-fold flipback cover with laminated front by Garrod & Lofthouse with the 12 LL code.
There is a KT tax code stamp on side 2. The label font appears to be Serif.

This LP has obviously been well played and there are numerous marks and scuffs over both sides. However, it playtested reasonably well, with crackling on run-ins and between tracks, and not too much noise on the tracks themselves. There are a few pops and clicks but it plays much better than it looks, which is often the case with 1960s vinyl which is typically heavier and with deeper grooves. Given this I have graded as GOOD+, mainly because of the cosmetic condition.
Sleeve is VG. There is some paper residue on the front cover which I think will lift off with some gentle cleaning, some wear around the opening but no seam splits. The spine is very good. The laminate is very good with wrinkles but no lifting. The back has some age related discolouration but no writing or other damage.
The inner polylined white bag looks to be correct vintage, with care notes printed on one side in blue.

Mint (M)
The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX)
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG)
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
Good (G)
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
Fair (F)
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
