Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967,[nb 1] Sgt. Pepper is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the roles of sound composition, extended form, psychedelic imagery, record sleeves, and the producer in popular music. The album had an immediate cross-generational impact and was associated with numerous touchstones of the era's youth culture, such as fashion, drugs, mysticism, and a sense of optimism and empowerment. Critics lauded the album for its innovations in songwriting, production and graphic design, for bridging a cultural divide between popular music and high art, and for reflecting the interests of contemporary youth and the counterculture.
The vinyl is absolutely stunning! It has a super glossy sheen and sits completely flat with no warping. Beautifully clean labels and fab spindle holes! Bar a couple of almost unnoticeable sleeve removal wisps, it is pretty much MINT!!
The outer gatefold is great! It is still bright and has retained a nice sheen. Has no splits or tears, does show age wear to corners, edges with film crinkles - great spine.
The green Peter Blake cutouts are also EXCELLENT / NR MINT as it seems to have been kept fresh inside the gatefold!
Competing this set is the often missing Red and white Fool's Swirl. It has no rips and has retained a nice colour - has some age discolouration and creases and a seam split starting to the bottom.
OVERALL A GREAT AND COMPLETE SET TO ADD TO YOUR MUSICAL COLLECTION!!!
