WITH THE MUCH RARER WIDER SPINE, VERY GLOSSY MONO SLEEVE, BRIGHT LABELS, SUPERB VINYL, GREAT AUDIO, TOTALLY COMPLETE, 100% ORIGINAL!
Summary:
No doubt, one of the ICONIC albums of the 20th Century, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by EMI/Parlophone, UK on the 1st June 1967. It went straight to Number 1, and dominated the top position in the charts for 23 weeks!
Album Description and Condition:
RARE FIRST ISSUE **MONO** VINYL LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, with‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text printed to both sides of the record labels labels.
Both record label are in Near Mint condition, bright labels with unfaded silver and yellow print, showing some light centre spindle lines.
Side 1 stamped matrix: XEX 637-1 and Side 2: XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1 ARO and Side 2: 7 RLP.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 2 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in superb Near Mint condition, bright Vinyl surfaces showing nothing more than a couple of light surface hairlines, none of which affect the superb play quality, there are no scuffs or deep scratches.
Audio Quality:
The album plays great from beginning to end - A CLEAR, STRONG MONO sound quality with no skips or clicks, and hardly any background crackle.
The Vinyl Disc comes in it’s original Pink &White Made in Gt Britain flame inner bag printed ‘Made in Great Britain to the bottom right corner. The flame inner bag is inNear Mint condition, there are no seam splits or tears, just some very mild creasing.
Also included is the ORIGINAL First Issue CARD Sgt Pepper Cut-Out, which is in SUPERB, UNDAMAGED Near Mint condition.
…..And is protected in it’s ORIGINAL First Issue RARE WIDER SPINE Fully Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve correctly printed ‘PMC 7027 Mono’ to the reverse.
The front, back, and inner gatefold part of the sleeve are all in Excellent Plus condition. The sleeve still retains its deep gloss laminate to the front, inner gatefold and reverse, with NO fading to the vivid colours, and only minimal record indentation to the front panel, there are small bumps to three corners, and a small crease to the bottom left corner.
The wide spine edge is white, firm and undamaged, with a little creasing to the bottom edge, due to the corner crease as described, and clearly reads 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.
This is a superb example, 100% ORIGINAL and COMPLETE, of this RARE WIDER SPINE VARIANT MONO Album!
