THE BEATLES: ‘SOMETHING NEW’ – ULTRA RARE 1965 **LABEL ERROR** UK **EXPORT** STEREO VINYL LP – CPCS 101 – **MIS-PRESSED** WITH **‘SOLD IN UK LABEL TEXT** ON BOTH RECORD LABELS!

This is The Beatles First Pressing of the first UK Beatles Export Album ‘Something New’ This Rarity has first 1G Mother Stamper Markings on each side, and additionally has the incorrect, Sold in UK Label Text on both record labels

The Beatles ‘Something New’ UK EXPORT LP, which was mis-pressed displaying the incorrect **‘Sold in UK subject to resale’**…… label text, but with the correct ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ label rim, correct CPCS 101 Catalogue number, together with the correct ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text! This ‘Sold in UK’ label error was very quickly corrected, and all subsequent issues of this 1st pressing showed the correct labels omitting, of course, the ‘Sold in UK’ label text, and of course UK Exports LPs were not available for sale in the UK.

Now for a bit more detail about the album which displays the side 1 stamped matrix in the trail out groove of YEEX 7-B12 and the side 2 Matrix of YEEX 8-B12 – the side 1 Mother Stampers are: ‘1G ’ and the side 2 Mother Stampers are also: ‘1G’Indicating a first pressing. There is also an embossed ‘KT’ tax code visible on the side 1 record label’

Both record labels are in Very Good Plus condition, there are several play signs to the centres of each record label.

Both sides of the LP are in Very Good Plus condition, there are several light surface hairlines to both sides of the LP, but none of which sound when played

Having played the record, it plays without any skips or jumps, however there is just light crackle which is more prominent between the tracks, and the odd light click, the sound quality of this Export LP is otherwise superb.

The original UK front laminated three flipback Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, Patents Pending sleeve is in Very Good condition, the laminate is bright, however, does show some laminate pinching to the front and light edge and corner wear. The spine edge wording ‘Something New – The Beatles’ is clear . The reverse of the sleeve shows age toning.

Although not in top pristine condition, but still respectable, this album is considered a real rarity, and more so with the label error …!
