TITLE: The Beatles Second Album - Compact 33 - Jukebox Album - STEREO
CONDITION LABEL: VG DISC: M - SLEEVE: n/a. Seven inch disc only.
OFFERED HERE, A MOST SPLENDID EXAMPLE OF THE SECOND BEATLES COMPACT 33 THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM, RELEASED IN APRIL 1964 AT THE TIME OF THE RELEASE OF THE LP ALBUM.
THE COMPACT 33'S WERE PRODUCED WITH THE CAPITOL BLACK LABELS, THE OUTER RIM COLOR BAND AND THE CAPITOL LOGO AT THE BOTTOM. THE CONDITION OF THE DISC IS STUNNING TO SAY THE LEAST, GRADED AT A MINT MINUS AND THIS BEAUTY APPEARS UNPLAYED.
DURING THE SIXTIES, CAPITOL ISSUED STEREO COMPACT 33 DISCS OF SOME OF THE LABEL'S MOST POPULAR ALBUMS FOR JUKEBOX PLAY. THESE 7" RECORDS HAD A SMALL CENTER HOLE AND PLAYED AT 331/3 RPM. THESE MINI-ALBUMS WERE NORMALLY PROGRAMMED WITH THREE SONGS FROM THE ALBUM ON EACH SIDE OF THE DISC. THE SONGS FEATURED ON THE COMPACT 33 RECORDS WERE OFTEN UNAVAILABLE IN THE 45 SINGLES FORMAT.
CAPITOL PRODUCED THREE BEATLES COMPACT 33'S STARTING WITH MEET THE BEATLES, THEN THE BEATLES' SECOND ALBUM AND SOMETHING NEW BEING THE FINAL TWO. ALL THREE WERE MANUFACTURED BY CAPITOL'S SCRANTON FACTORY.
AS THESE RECORDS WERE INTENDED FOR JUKEBOX PLAY, THEY ARE SELDOM FOUND IN MINT OR NEAR MINT CONDITION. NOT IN THIS CASE ! I
