The Beatles
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Italian
WIDESPINE!
(With RARE Misspelling!!)
*professionally cleaned*
This really was the birth of progressive rock! It was the Beatles' 9th Lp and what an imapact it had. and still does have. Released on the 1st of June 1967, the album reached number 1 across the board, staying at number 1 for 23 weeks!! With a total of 148 weeks in the charts!!
This copy:
Catalogue number: 3C 064 04177
Matrix Number Side 1: 04177-A 12-11-75
Matrix Number Side 2: 04177-B 12-11-75
These end matrix numbers appear to be the dates of the re-vamped final cuts of the Sgt Pepper album in 1975.
Interestingly, the Beatles had a broadcast on the 25th of May 1967, where they showcased each of their songs from the Sgt Pepper album, but were not allowed to air A Day In The Life as it was too permissive towards the use of drugs!
Vinyl:
HEAVYWEIGHT 149g
EX!
Looks to have been played JUST A FEW TIMES!
Glorious sheen to the heavy vinyl
Flat as the day she was born.
Barely any background noise.
CLEAR AUDIO WITH WONDERFUL PLAY BACK
A pure joy to listen to-TURN HER UP!
MAGICAL! Also has a recorded snippet of the perpetual ending....strange!
Labels:
EX!
YEP!! Lovely and clean.
I can see very faint spindle marks-only when angled towards the light.
With NO hole wear to either side!!
"Made In Italy..." rim text.
Gorgeously bright in colour for the blue and white label.
Has a faint tax stamp-as was the norm.
AGAIN...MAGICAL!
PLEASE SEE THE DETAILED IMAGES PROVIDED AND CLICK ON THEM TO GET EVEN LARGER IMAGES-WITH MORE DETAIL
Also-why not check out my feedback for true gradings and happy customers.
Inner Sleeve:
EX!
It is the ORIGINAL die-cut plain white inner.
Looks to have just popped out of a time machine!
Light creasing is all.
Cut-Outs:
Not present.
Cover:
EX-.
It is on HEAVY card stock and of course is GATEFOLD.
To the back, bottom right-there is NO MENTION of NEMS etc and only states "All lyrics copyright 1967 for the world by Northern Songs Ltd. England"
************************
SHE CARRIES A VERY RARE MISSPELLING I HAVE SEEN ONCE BEFORE-THE SPINE STATES:
"Sgs. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band"
(Sgt now spelt with and 's')
*****************
The condition is lovely, with BRIGHT COLOURS, minimal rubbing to the corners and minimal rubbing to the typically problematic back.
The really unusual part to notice is the super-wide spine: 7mm! Just like the WIDESPINE UK version. Clearly legible and in good condition, albeit slightly crushed.
The inner gatefold is still as bright today as it was when first printed.
***GREAT COPY***
I am being incredibly critical as well as honest as possible, so bid with confidence.
ALL IN ALL THIS IS A RARER ITALIAN PRESSING-ONE WHICH SOUNDS SUPERB.
CARRIES THE RARE MISSPRINT TOO.
