Description
The Beatles - Sgt. Peppers, 1967 Uk stereo very 1st press.
This is a truly exceptional example of a true classic... of arguably the greatest record ever made.
The runs outs show:
YEX 637-1
YEX 637-2
Indicating that this is indeed a genuine 1st press of the stereo version of the album.
It was bought new by my father all those decades ago and came to me upon his sad passing 10yrs ago. We know for certain it has received zero play of any kind since 1983 upon our move to our current residence. This is borne out in the truly excellent condition of the entire package but most importantly the LP itself. Under maglite inspection at max brightness there is only very faint hairline scratches present across both playing surfaces with the most notable being a small area at the start of side 2. Under normal daylight these are all but invisible. I feel the playing surfaces are in excellent shape but the record definately needs a good clean before coming back into play. The gatefold jacket is of course fully laminated and is in quite amazing condition for its age only showing some break up of the laminate on the spine which ive tried to photo. Otherwise its very solid and sturdy and only has very minor storage wear for its 53 years of age. The inner sleeve is the original pink wave effect paper type with no creasing and still in amazing condition too. Finally the cardboard "Sgt. Pepper cutouts" is present and correct and also truly excellent.
This must be one of the finest examples of this record available today. Its condition, through low ownership and sparse use have left it eminently collectable and useable to those who would be interested in it. The price fairly reflects these fine attributes it possesses.
It will be safely and carefully packed and shipped asap if it sells.
Thanks for looking.
