Description:

Offered here is the "Holy Grail" for Beatles vinyl collectors: a genuine 1967 UK First Pressing of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band featuring the rare Wide Spine (approx. 5mm) gatefold variant.

This is a true early-batch copy, verified by the earliest -1/-1 matrix codes and single-mother stampers. Unlike the common "pinched" spine versions, this Wide Spine variant was only produced for the very first weeks of release.

Key Technical Details:

• Matrix: Side 1: YEX 637-1 | Side 2: YEX 638-1

. KT Tax Stamp

• Stamper Codes: Side 1: 1 / GRH | Side 2: 4 / GAG (Extremely early production)

• Spine: Rare 5mm Wide Spine (Garrod & Lofthouse). Text is clear and legible.

Note: There is a crease on the spine, no splits as of yet, but the crease on the top is deep and could possibly lead to a split in the future.

• Insert: Original stiff cardboard cut-outs included (Intact/Unused).

• Inner Sleeve: Original 1967 white "Patents Applied For" EMI sleeve. The inclusion of the plain white 'Patents' sleeve further verifies this as a 'Day 1' assembly before the psychedelic inner sleeves were fully integrated into the production line.

Condition Report:

• Vinyl: VG+ (Very Good). Retains a deep, glassy shine with only a few faint surface scratches visible under bright light on each side. Rating it VG+ only due to the faint scratches.

• Sleeve: VG+. Vibrant colors with no seam splits. Spine has a crease likely to being stored with other records. Corners have some light damage- as shown in photos.

Condition Note: Please see photos for the crease on the 5mm Wide Spine and the few light scratches on each side of the vinyl. The record has been professionally play-tested on a high-end turntable; the needle passes through the lead-in and all tracks with zero skips, sticks, or audio interference. Sold as-is based on these detailed high-fidelity audio results!

This isn't just a 1967 first pressing; it is a 'First-Day' artifact. With the Wide Spine cover and Mother 1 on Side A, you are getting the closest possible sound to the master tapes. The audio DNA here—Matrix -1/-1 and early GRH/GAG stampers—represents the peak of Beatles analog production!
