A genuine 1969 One-Box Emi copy of Pepper on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Please note One-Emi box copies, like this example were pressed during the autumn of 1969. The first batch of 'one-box' copies came housed in a stereo gatefold cover with 'patents pending'. The first batch copies are identifiable by the flipbacks which remain exposed in the interior - and also exhibit the colours red & blue just creeping over from the exterior. Also included is the original heavy-card cut-outs and the generic white inner with patent info. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. The Lp will come housed in an anti-static inner for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex+) In marvellous condition and has only seen the lightest of use. Holding the vinyl up to the light - I don't think I've ever seen more pristine looking surfaces. They only exhibit a couple of the lightest marks and have clearly been looked after by one incredibly fastidious owner. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback without reservation. This is quite possibly the best rendition of Pepper I've ever witnessed [of all versions be they stereo or mono]. It is nigh on perfect and does not suffer some of the issues you regularly find on the 1st pressings from 18 months earlier. If you are just looking for the absolute possible best-audio rendition for Pepper then do seriously consider this example - they don't all sound like this! Perfect reproduction through all frequencies and, most impressively this is sustained without interference from start to finish. Which basically puts this copy right next to NIGH ON PERFECT. I'd like to pretend that every few copies delivers this sort of level, but I can assure you very very few copies make it through this passage of time and are still a shade off 'Like New'. Remember how long Pepper is, and bare in mind the complexities of the audio, then stop and think about all those ridiculously low-key tracks. For an LP to deliver perfect reproduction all the way through is A BIG ASK. But I can can guarantee, on this copy, we can deliver that level. FINAL UPGRADE par excellence.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Well, Pepper always did look like a visual feast, but on a well preserved high quality print that feast is all the more impressive. These '69 copies are quality from start to finish. Look at the front image...beautiful vivid colours - there's no ageing or dulling. The actual cover is constructed of very stiff card and retains perfect rigidity. The rear looks equally impressive with just a couple of tiny indentations - stopping it getting a flat out top grade. t The interior is a thing of wonder - "wow"..that's all I can say. The spine is nice and wide and has not deformed like many examples tend to. All text perfectly legible. Edge wear is super-light and the openings still sharp. Overall the cover lies totally flat and retains superb rigidity.
Cut-Outs (Ex+) very nice heavy-card. Nigh on Perfect.
Inner (Ex) No ageing. No writing. A one inch side split.
