Might be of interest to someone who just wants to hear PEPPER with absolute top-level clarity. The autumn-1969 One-Box Emi copies are very very impressive for audio providing you can find a really clean sparingly played example. And this copy doesn't disappoint. Matrix 1/1 - same as the 1st cut. The '69 copies were heavy pressed, and are barely two years from those amazing '67 masters.  A truly clean copy will pretty much outgun any other copy...The first One-Box copies were housed in a gatefold cover with flipbacks still exposed in the interior. You will note that the blue and red colours just make it over the top to the interior [only found on this first batch of '69 covers]. We also have the original Cut-Outs , but there is NO original inner.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen very light careful use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks one side 1, a few very superficial ones on side 2, and one minuscule one which is semi-feelable [details below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Well, you gotta hand it to EMI they knew how to press a record in the sixties. For a complex multi-textured album like Pepper you really need a top class pressing to do it maximum justice. Add in a truly clean player, that's clean ALL the way through..and you end up with something truly mind-blowing. This is a perfect player all the way through with only one very brief deviation. ALL tracks play perfectly clean. Expect nothing more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. Even those fussy tracks like WI64, WIYWOY, "She's Leaving Home" plays really clean - much much better than you normally tend to find. Nearly all sixties copies will struggle to play these tracks properly clean. But this copy does it - majestically. Hear Pepper as it was intended with full resolution and clarity. I can't recommend it highly enough. The only one fractional deviation is the closing seconds of 'Lovely Rita' [caused by the small mark mentioned above]. In the final section expect five ticks just before the tracks finishes. No big deal. If you can live with that one issue - the rest of the LP will knock your socks off!
Cover (Ex) These 1969 copies were made solidly with super bold colours. Lovely shiny and relatively uncreased front and back. The only thing I can spot is a tiny amount of laminate lift in the bottom left corner on the front & one top right on the rear. The interior is immaculate with flipbacks perfectly preserved. Edge wear is relatively light and the spine pretty much all intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Cut-Outs (Vg+) They look fine from the front. Bit of foxing on the rear though.
