Description
THE BEATLES MFSL UHQR- SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND MFQR 1-100 – Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab factory sealed boxed LP - This is the MFSL Super Vinyl 200 GRAM UHQR Half-Speed Mastered JVC Japanese Pressing.
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sgt. Pepper June 1, 1967 release.
Ultra High Quality Recordings (UHQR) were the first 200 gram vinyl LPs made for audiophiles, each limited to pressings of 5,000 and hand numbered. They were pressed at the JVC plant in Yokohama, Japan. The LP was Half-Speed Mastered using the Ortofon Cutting System from the Original Stereo Master Tapes. The UHQRs offer superior frequency response of +/- 0.5 dB from 20-20kHz., improved channel separation of 9 dB at 300 Hz., 12 dB at 1 kHz., and 6 dB at 10 kHz. and lower distortion by 12, 10 and 6 dB at the low, mid and high frequency ranges respectively. Mid-range on the disc surface is reduced by 10 dB in the 700 Hz. range. The UHQRs Super Vinyl offers high forming accuracy and excellent wear resistance. The thick, heavy weight offers an extremely flat surface and significantly reduces surface disc vibrations. This is as close as you can get to owning the original master tapes. The LP has a special static free, dust free inner sleeve and heavy-duty protective packaging throughout. It includes a Technical Specification Manual and a UHQR Certification of Authenticity.
This LP has been Out of Print for 35 years and a true audiophile‘s collectible.
I was a dealer of MFSL when they were issued and ordered six of them pre-release. All six arrived directly from MFSL together. I kept two and have sold four. This is the last factory sealed copy and should be Serial # 1395 or 1397. It was pressed in Japan, July 1982.
NOTE: I want to emphasis that this item is in the original MFSL factory sealed LP box. Over the years the factory cellophane covering has become brittle and has split open, but only at the top. The LP has always been stored vertically in a cool, dark, humidity controlled environment. $995.00 US or best offer.
