Mono Vinyl, LP, released in 1967.
1st UK pressings, with: A Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gate-fold cover (flipback glue-tabs on inner spread); A red half-tone print on white 'psychedelic' inner sleeve; A 'cut-outs' card insert (full-colour, single-sided. Printed signatures of Blake/Haworth at foot); A black and yellow logo label with silver text: "The Gramophone Co." in the radial text and "Sold in the U.K. Subject To Resale Price Conditions, See Price Lists" across label at centre, with "Made in Gt. Britain" at foot.
The vinyl has several surface marks, which can cause a bit of noise between tracks and in some quieter passages. There is one noticeable white mark on Side 2, but the LP does however play all the way through on my stereo without any hop, stick or jump. The gate-fold sleeve has a bit of wear to the corners but is intact with no tears or writing. The spine is intact and legible, although a little worn. The 'cut-outs' card insert is intact and in good shape. The red half-tone print on white 'psychedelic' inner sleeve is a little creased but intact and in excellent condition. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is the Beatles' eighth studio album. Released on 1 June 1967, it was an immediate commercial and critical success, spending 27 weeks at the top of the albums chart in the United Kingdom and 15 weeks at number one in the United States. The album was recognized for its innovations in music production, songwriting and graphic design, reflecting an embodiment of the 1960s counterculture, and bridging a cultural divide between popular music and legitimate art. It won four Grammy Awards in 1968, including Album of the Year, the first rock LP to receive this honour.
