THE BEATLES - 'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
This fine 1st UK MONO pressing dates from initial June 1967 release on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text and have 'The Gramophone Co...' rim texts.
A 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 2 label.
Matrices: XEX 637-1 & XEX 637-1
Stamper codes: 3/GML & 7/GHO
Disc weight: 152g
Housed in a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with flipovers inside the gatefold.
100% complete with red & white inner-sleeve & unused cut-out sheet.
Disc: EXCELLENT +
Beautifully clean labels showing just a small handful of spindle trails around each centre hole indicating just a few careful plays on good equipment. Both playing surfaces are clean, glossy and unworn with just a single light scuff on side 1 and a sparkling rainbow shine beneath halogen light. The sound quality through is fresh & unworn with 'She's Leaving Home' playing cleanly and clearly. Apart from a handful of light clicks on the introduction to 'Within Without You', there is nothing to fault on this great sounding pressing.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A clean, fully intact example with a bright, unscratched high-gloss laminate bearing just a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle to the front and rear. There is some light wear to the front opening edge but all corners are in nice unbumped shape. Inside the gatefold, all is clean & bright with just a little missing paper to the exposed edges of the flipbacks (an early production fault). The spine is clean & fully worded and all seams are smooth & unstressed.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +
Clean & uncreased with no writing, tears or seam splits.
Cut-out sheet: MINT
