Visually the records show signs of being used, played and loved over the years. All four sides have their fair share of sleeve removal marks, scuffs and scratches here and there too, but the first record is definitely worse for wear. Side 1 and 2 play through with some noticeable crackle but they don't jump anywhere. Side 2 is definitely the worst as there some concerning looking marks / scratches, both of which I've shown in the photos, that are audible as the stylus plays over them which is paired with some louder pops and some rotational crackles too during the middle passage of "Martha My Dear" through to the ending of the song, and also a couple in the ending of "Rocky Raccoon". As said, luckily the scratches don't cause any jumps on my turntables but they may play differently depending on your equipment and how it's set up. The second LP definitely plays a little bit nicer than the first with Side 3 having a beautiful, confident and in comparison to the first disc, quite crackle-free experience. It sounds nice and is quite enjoyable but there are some small spots of surface noise in the quieter segments like the fade out of "Yer Blues" and the occasional crackle / pop / tick here too. Side 4 sounds a little bit noisier with some rotational pops on one channel at the end of "Honey Pie" that go into the beginning of "Revolution 9". "Good Night" is a track that is infamous for being groove worn and damaged and although not being completely worn through like it often is on this pressing, it's not 100% perfect either. The rough texture of the inner sleeves has clearly had quite an effect on this record over the years and it's unfortunate, but overall I'd grade the record, side for side as follows:
Side 1 - Very Good - Side 2 - Very Good - Side 3 - Very Good + Side 4 - Very Good

Overall it's a far from perfect copy but it's luckily still playable. Surprisingly this is actually the best condition White Album I've ever owned, it's difficult to understate how abrasive those black inner sleeves could be if you weren't careful and there's so much to go wrong over all 4 sides. That said, this copy is at least still listenable without major frustration and if you sum your turntable to mono or use a mono cartridge, the noise floor is lowered and the album becomes even more enjoyable, I'd highly recommend playing it this way if you can.


The original Garrod & Lofthouse top-opening gatefold cover is overall in a Very Good condition. Numbered 108433, it's holding up together alright. The main demerits with this cover are some yellowing with age and the odd spots of discolouration / dirt, alongside some laminate wear on the spine. The spine text is still readable luckily but the wear does make itself known. The inside generally looks nice with only some slight corner bumping and the openings aren't in too bad of a condition either. They do show their wear and unfortunately one side does have a small tear which is photographed but the openings aren't majorly worn down which would often happen on these covers. It's the correct version with the right details on the spine and no mono / stereo indicators on the back. Unfortunately there are some patches of dirt / discolouration around the front number and the number text seems to have faded a little bit too but it's still nicely readable. The embossed "BEATLES" logo is in a nice shape, it just has a little bit of dirt and discolouration again. The discolouration is a common theme with this cover, although it doesn't show well in the photos it's definitely something you can see when it's in your hands. The list of demerits is rather long but I'm not bumping down the grading because finding one of these covers in a perfect condition is next to impossible and the condition of these covers can very easily get much, much worse. I think it'd be more concerning to find a White Album that hasn't been in a vault that also doesn't have any discolouration after 50+ years. I think a lot of it just comes with storage and age, unfortunately. 


Comes with both original black inner sleeves and they're surprisingly in great condition, there are no seam splits and no major signs of creasing and I'd grade both of them as Very Good +. All that abrasion of the record surfaces has clearly left them standing as the victor over the past five decades, which is rather unfortunate. I'd recommend replacing these if you can.  
Unfortunately the original photographs are no longer present but it does come with the poster and it shows it's own signs of wear. There are some slight signs of tearing along the seams from where it's been folded up and as you can see in the photos there are other tears / signs of wear and some sellotape residue in places too. I think this poster was up on someone's wall for some time back in the day but luckily it's still holding together.
