In this auction is 1 Original Beatles VJ 45 RPM record, 1 VJ generic paper sleeve and 1 VJ 581 Promo Fantasy paper sleeve.


Here are the details:


  • “PLEASE PLEASE ME” b/w “FROM ME TO YOU” by The Beatles

  • It is a 7-INCH RECORD issued by VEE JAY (VJ) RECORDS.

  • This is Vee Jay 581.

  • This label variation is BLACK WITH PERIMETER COLOR BAND and OVAL VEE JAY LOGOS.

  • This record was issued January, 1964.

  • VJ 581 with the VJ OVAL LOGO LABELS is one of the earliest label variations/pressings of this single.

  • The VINYL is in NEAR MINT (NM) to NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) CONDITION with just a few very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs.

  • Vee Jay produced a picture sleeve that was issued with some copies of this record, but the picture sleeve is NOT INCLUDED in this auction.

  • A black and red VEE JAY GENERIC PAPER SLEEVE with white “SINGLES OF SIGNIFICANCE” near the top and the Vee Jay brackets logo on the right 14 times is included in this auction. This sleeve is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION with just some very light bends or folds and NO SPLITS.

  • A blue and white VEE JAY 581 FANTASY PROMO SLEEVE is also included in this auction, as VJ 581 was considered to be the record that started “Beatlemania”.

    IT’S A VERY NICE COPY OF VEE JAY 581 WITH OVAL VJ LOGO LABELS TO ADD TO YOUR BEATLES’ VINYL COLLECTION!!
