The Beatles WHITE ALBUM No.0001007 RARE LOW NUMBER
1968 1st UK MONO PRESSING. PMC 7067 / 7068
I bought this double album on the first day of on sale in 1968 at the Oxford Street branch of HMV in Central London. I was on my way to work, so I guess I was just lucky to get such an early number.
COVER: Very good for 52 years old. Some slight creases and marks on front, faint shape of disc on back. Inside - very clean. Spine has no scuffs, but there are a couple of marks and a water mark about 2cm.
RECORDS: I cant deny that these records were played a lot in 68/69, but not much since. I have now listened to them in their entirety and I think there in very good condition. There are no obvious scratches, but some crackle here and there, noticeable in the quieter periods. side 1 - Dear Prudence - crackles at beginning.Happiness is a Warm Gun - crackles at start and early part side 2 - Crackles at the end of disc, particularly on Blackbird and Do it in the Road side 3 - crackles on Long Long Long side 4 - few clicks on Revolution 9
INNER SLEEVES: Original black sleeves, top edges a bit tatty, bottom split in centre.
LABELS:Excellent. Earliest UK pressing, with "Sold in UK"
