Description
The Beatles WHITE ALBUM 1968 UK Release MONO: PMC 7067/8
This copy has a relatively LOW number under 10000! No. 0009453
The COVER:
Genuine MONO Top Loading Gatefold Cover with No. 0009453 on the front. Ringwear showing on the front. The spine has lost some of its laminate protection and is a bit frayed at the bottom edge. Fading and discolouration as in the case of most White Album covers and some mild creasing in the corners. There are no marks or writing on it and the inside flipbacks are still strong. VG-
The RECORDS:
Sides 1 & 2 state ‘An EMI Recording’ on the labels. XEX 709-1 and 710-1. Both sides have surface marks and scratches. Side 2 has a longer visible scratch covering most of the side. Side 1 has a slight stylus jump on ‘Bungalow Bill’ apart from that minor background noise, nothing too distracting. Good audio overall.
Side 2 has 2 slight stylus jumps at the beginning of ‘Martha My Dear’ and the scratch becomes audible at the beginning of ‘Blackbird’. From ‘Rocky Raccoon onwards the sound improves. Good overall but beware of that scratch!
Sides 3 & 4 do not have ‘An EMI Recording’ on their labels. XEX 711-1 and 712-1.
These records look in better condition but on playthrough there is background clicking in the quieter parts but no skips or jumps. Very Good -
Despite the less than excellent condition of the records thanks to the heavyweight 60s vinyl and mono mix the music still sounds great and the records can be listened to and enjoyed.
The BLACK INNER Sleeves:
These have some creases and small splits on the sides. They have lasted 40 years and are still usable with care!
The band PHOTOS.
John’s is missing but the other three are in VG condition with some creasing and wear.
There is NO poster/lyric sheet with this copy.
