Description
An original 1st press of the WHITE ALBUM and would have been available for sale in November 1968. Matrix 1/1/1/1. Stampers 1A/1RP/3GGP/4GH. Please note the labels exhibit the 'Sold In The UK..' statement and that singles this LP out as a genuine 1st press from the 1st month of release Nov 1968. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in a top-loading original Garrod & Lofthouse numbered cover..."054454". Also included is the poster/lyric sheet, the four original high quality photos, and both black Apple inner sleeves. So, this example is 100% genuine and 100% complete...and this is a superbly preserved copy so read on.....>>>
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+/Ex+/Ex+) In stunning condition and I this is certainly one of the best looking copies I've seen up close. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Now, don't underestimate a grading like this...This is not a throw away Ex+...this is proper grading with NO HYPE. A grading at this level is almost impossible to find on an original white album. We are effectively saying it is as good as you can possibly hope for all the way through. Take a look at those label shots - this is a very very low-mileage copy and it shows. The audio on this copy just cannot be beaten - it is a final upgrade for sure. Beautiful tonal balance and incredible transparency. I'm pleased to report that interference is practically non-existent. All we could detect was a touch of light static momentarily in a couple of isolated spots [e.g. Julia]. But other than that nothing but pure unadulterated EMI mono of the highest standard. Many tracks on the White Album are very low-key acoustic numbers and even light static can influence the audio. NOT HERE - there's literally nothing there behind the sound. It really is a super clean copy...
Cover (Ex) Wow..most copies are showing quite a bit of ageing by this time, but this copy really has been looked after. It is lovely and white front and back with only the very lightest of ageing at the extremities and a couple of age spots. Edge wear is light and that spine is in very nice condition with no issues at all and all text still visible. The interior is in immaculate condition. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and it is difficult to imagine going any better than this example.
Lyric/poster (Ex) Excellent condition. No splits, but some light foxing a coupe of spots.
Photos (Ex/Ex+) Pretty much perfect bar Paul which has a touch of surface wear [minor].
Inners (Ex) Both in great shape. No splits. No issues at all really.
