This fine 100% complete UK 1968 1st mono pressing of this incredible album is one of the best examples we have handled for a long time.

It dates from initial November 1968 release on the dark green Apple Records label: PMC 7067/8

All labels have the 'Sold in UK...' text and the 'An EMI Recording' statement.

Matrices: XEX 709-1, 710-1 & XEX 711-1, 712-1

Stamper codes: 1/RP, 7/GGT & 1/HT, 5/MP

Vinyl weights: 137g & 148g

Housed in a fully laminated, top-opening 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover numbered: No.0229545

The set is fully loaded with all its original UK printed components:

• Factory-folded poster

• Die-cut matt-black inners.

CONDITION

Disc 1: EXCELLENT  Disc 2: EXCELLENT +

All are clean & bright with light wear to the side 1 centre hole.

Disc 1: EXCELLENT  Disc 2: EXCELLENT +

All sides are clean and retain their deep-gloss factory shine. Disc 1 has a couple of very light surface blemishes in strong daylight with disc 2 being pretty much flawless. Close examination directly beneath halogen light reveals just some harmless light marks from contact with the unforgiving matt inner-sleeves, but no scratches or any other such wear. A very tough album to find in this condition.

Both discs: EXCELLENT +

This is a very difficult album to find in clean sounding shape. However both discs are the exception to that rule. All tracks on both discs play cleanly and clearly and our careful play-check detected no clicks, pops or any other distractions. You won't be disappointed with the sound of this well looked-after copy.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

Rare to find such a clean, white and unworn example. White card just doesn't survive 52 years in this kind of condition. However this beautiful example has been carefully stored in a clean, non-smoking environment and looks like it left the shops last week, let alone over half a century ago. The iconic front panel is perfect with no scratching, no 'thumbnail' wrinkles or eve a single spine bend. The raised wording is fully covered and the unique number is bold and unworn. Apart from a tiny bruise to the lower right corner, all are square and unbumped and all of the top-opening edges are undamaged. Both panels inside are immaculate and the rear panel is a good and clean & the front with just a small scratch midway along near the upper edge. The spine text is fully readable and covered both ends but there is a small area midway where the laminate has split. However there is no dirt on any part of the spine and it looks incredible on the shelf. You will struggle to find a better example.

Both are clean & flat with some light wrinkles but no writing, tears or seam splits.

Overall a truly superb package, seldom seen 100% complete example in this condition.
