One of the most sought-after subsets in the UK Beatles vinyl catalog, 'export' pressings were manufactured by EMI-UK for exclusive distribution in overseas markets. Export albums were pressed in significantly fewer numbers relative to domestic releases and so are, logically, much harder to find. While some export titles appear to be more common than others, all are held in high esteem by collectors of Beatles vinyl the world over.

No Beatles LP collection is complete without a UK yellow/black Parlophone export pressing. This auction offers a rare opportunity to secure a decent copy of the 'White Album' on this sought-after label.

This is an original, authentic UK pressing; it is not a reissue or a counterfeit.

CONDITION

THE LABELS:

Graded VG+.

The famous Parlophone labels are in nice condition: no marks and virtually no discernible spindle wear. Any existing spindle traces are extremely light and barely visible. These are fantastic examples with no color fading. For a 1st press export edition, finding labels in this state is truly remarkable.

Disc Visual:

VG.

There is a good set of glossy vinyl and a really thick pressing. Deep, clear grooves found only on the original early pressings.

First vinyl: shows some marks, scratches, and scuffs. Graded G+ to VG-.

Second vinyl: shows some marks, scratches, and scuffs. Graded G+ to VG-.

Plays at G+ to VG- condition.

Side 1:

The vinyl plays with some light crackles and static, so it’s graded as G+ to VG-.

Side 2:

The vinyl plays with some light crackles and static, so it’s graded as G+ to VG-.

Side 3:

The vinyl plays with some light crackles and static, so it’s graded as G+ to VG-.

Side 4:

It begins with 'Revolution' and has some light surface noise during the run-in. There are two very faint pops at the very beginning of the track during the first few bars—the kind of feeler marks that downgrade a record to G+.

Overall audio quality is good. There is some light surface noise and the occasional 'tick,' but nothing that detracts from the listening experience. Both records lay flat on the turntable and play through without any skips or jumps.

Please note: Cleaning this on a professional machine would greatly improve the sound quality, so the record will only sound better from here!

Cover:

Graded VG+.

This is the original stereo cover with 'stereo' printed on the rear. The first-press stereo cover features an inner flipback, top-loading design, and is numbered No. 0543237 by Garrod & Lofthouse.

The poster shows light age wear but is free of pinholes, tears, pen marks, and tape or glue residue.

Photos

Excellent.

The photos are sharp and clean, with only some wear from age.

Graded VG+.

The black inner sleeve has some age-related wear.

All LPs are graded visually and conservatively under bright light; records with questionable marks are play-graded.

GRADING:

Factory Sealed/ Brand New: Never opened with original shrink wrap on it!!!

Mint:  New condition...Look like new, no flaws whatsoever. Cover will look like it has just has been removed from shrink wrap.

Near Mint: Played One or Two times, no flaws, but a remote ever-so-slight amount of that shiny luster may be gone.  Jacket will be virtually flawless, slightest signs of wear, maybe one bumped corner, or a hint of edge wear.  

EXCELLENT

This Item  may have some marks like -light scratch or light sleeve scuffing, that may sound briefly in a quieter passage.   The jacket may have the very lightest signs of ring wear ,

some light corner or edge wear.

VG+: Very Good Plus. This record will have some light marks(light scratches and light sleeve scuffs), and it might make an occasional pop or crackle in parts, but will not even come close to overwhelming the listening experience.  Still a very desirable grade... As for the jacket, it will start to show more signs of wear than a VG++ jacket, the ring wear may be slightly more evident, the edge wear or corner wear may be more defined as well.

VG: Very Good. The record may have several scratches and scuffs, though aside from some popping and crackling, will still be an enjoyable listen. No skips here. The jacket will have far more wear than the previous grades, such as:  edge wear to the point of some minor seam splitting (the kind that can be repaired with tape or other means), ring wear (not terrible, but still distracting from the image), edge and corner wear, minor writing or a few stickers, or other similar defects.

VG- : Not terrible, usually represents 1 or 2 "ugly" marks or scratches, might be a little sketchy in a few spots, other than that would fair as a VG record.  The jacket will show wear - ring wear, seam splits (still should be able to be taped up for repair), some writing and/or stickers, edge and corner wear, or other similar defects.
