The Beatles - The White Album. (UK/ France 1973)
The Beatles ( double white ) 1973 Apple/ Pathe Marconi album. During 1973 EMI was refurbishing the UK record presses and so pressing production was transferred to France for this release although the sleeve, inner sleeves, photos and poster were made in England.
(Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1/ YEX 710-1/YEX 711-1/ YEX 712-1)
VINYL: All 4 sides play through beautifully, nice glossy surfaces, no sticks or skips, superb audio quality, this 1973 pressing is nice heavy vinyl. The odd faint tick here and there, a little surface crackle on the run-in to Side 3, a few hairlines under strong light but no real scratches anywhere. The spindle holes are pristine, I’ve tried hard but I can’t see ANY spindle marks, so very very few plays. A very sweet copy indeed. EXCELLENT ++
SLEEVE: Full laminate sleeve is still very well preserved, laminate on all four sides is intact and clean with minimal shelfwear. The colour has yellowed down a tone or two, but evenly. Strong spine and corners, EXCELLENT
POSTER: Minimal handling, whites are still very white and colours strong: EXCELLENT++
4 glossy photographs:
The photo of Paul has a mild crease at bottom left corner, other than that, these photos are pristine, NEAR MINT! Colours are still strong, NO fingerprints, NO writing, rips or other blemishes. Amazingly well preserved.
