Description
For auction with no reserve is an impossibly rare first day top loading mono pressing of the white album, with the very low number of 4249 - one of the lowest to appear on e/bay for some time.

True first pressing earliest possible stampers -
side one - xex 709 - 1 (etched mother stamper BBD & 7)
side two -xex 710 - 1 (etched mother stamper LD & 7)
side three - xex 711 - 1 (etched mother stamper GH & 1)
side four - xex 712 - 1 (etched mother stamper GL & 1)
conditon as follows:
Cover - Lovely bright reflective sheen on the front, back and inside of the cover. some slight discolouring to the top opening section of the sleeve, spine is intact with some minor cracking to the laminate but no splits of tears. inside spine is fully intact and in fine shape. back cover is free from any text. no stereo text . Lovely clear text on the front cover of the incredibly low number 4249 over all very good to excellent condition.
Poster - looks like it's never been opened - the best i have ever seen. Excellent
Photos - all four prints are excellent condition - again first pressing issues printed on thick photographic card with a lovely rich deep glossy shine.
black inner sleeves - both are replacements i believe from a later pressing and are in excellent condition - (original black inners are not difficult to obtain, i have no doubt if your looking at this album you are already well aware of that!!)
disc one - lovely clear labels without the EMI text - some spindle wear which is pictured. vinyl looks near excellent in normal light, deep black shine and very glossy. However under the unforgiving halogens in my kitchen some surface marks can be seen, nothing drastic and record would grade as very good (some would no doubt grade as excellent but i'm realistic when grading)
disc two - same condition and description as disc one. labels are again clean and bright with minor spindle wear. the name of the previous owner is written in biro on both sides. graded as before very good
The playback - play tested on a thorens TD160 turntable. Both discs graded very good. No skips or jumps, some mild surface noise, more noticable on the quieter tracks. Not so much crackle more a static hiss which i'm advised could be greatly improved with a professional clean. The odd pop and click but nothing too intrusive. The audio is without any distortion. A very respectable playable copy. A more than acceptable listening experience.
I've collected records for over 25 years. I try and grade as honestly as i can using the internationally recognised record collector grading guide. I do not "grade up" my records, VG is VG in my book, i've read many e/bay adds of late saying "Near mint apart from 3 or 4 surface marks....." what's that all about?, if it HAS surface marks it is NOT near mint... anyway, i'm ranting!!! I have tried to give the best description i can of this record. if you need anything clarifying please get in touch.
