Up for sale today is a rare beast indeed. This is a 1st UK MONO pressing of The Beatles Yellow Submarine LP. This has the Red Lines across the back sleeve
This is a First pressing, dating from 1969, having the Matrix numbers 1/1.
Mothers = 1-1
Stampers = L/GD
The labels are clean, free no grafitti, there is a small blemishes on the label side two(see pic).
The record retains much of its original shine and despite many marks plays very well with light crackle on the run-in, and minimal between track noise(though some may be more evident on headphones) and little evidence of deterioration of sound. I'm listening now on a Rega planar 3/Creek/Linn set-up and the sound is very strong and clear, a very enjoyable listening experience. There are no sticks or jumps, however, there is an odd click.
The sleeve is tidy. The front cover is clean, although there is some yellowing with age. The rear cover has three small tears(see pics). Whilst the spine suffers from creasing, the title is still very clear, although there is an L missing in the title(see pic). There is some evidence of shelf wear on the sleeve at 6/12 o'clock(approx 1cm). The seams are otherwise strong and intact I have much worse sleeves in my own collection. There is a generic inner sleeve (Apple/EMITEX bags are retained for my own collection).
Overall I would grade this VG+(disc)/VG(sleeve). Whilst I don't sell mint records as I keep them in my own collection, I had a tough call deciding to sell this in comparison to my own mono copy. With mint copies of this selling in excess of £600 I doubt that the buyer will be disappointed in this less than mint copy! I have listed this with a BIN price of £100 or best offer.

Returns accepted if you think my listing is misleading, buyer pays return postage. However, I believe I have given an honest appraisal of this record. I do not want disappointed buyers and returns. I have another Mono copy of this which was sold to me with a re-issue cover and side two looks like someone has poured polyfiller into the grooves! Suitable only for framing. You will not get such a deal from me. If it's trashed I will say so.
