THE BEATLES - 'YESTERDAY AND TODAY'


Here is a fine looking example of a genuine/original mono peeled or 'third state' Butcher cover of The Beatles' 1966 'Yesterday & Today' LP.

This particular copy was produced at Capitol's factory in Scranton, as identified by the number '3' on the rear panel. They used water soluble glue to paste the 'trunk' cover slick over the Butchers, making it the easiest of the issues to peel.

The iconic cover houses a regular 1st pressing mono disc on the rainbow Capitol label: T-2553

Disc matrices: T1-2553-G2 & T2-2553-G8#4

Vinyl weight: 142g

 Complete with original & correct orange Capitol advertising inner-sleeve and a copy of the original Capitol Records recall letter.

Both are clean & unblemished with only a couple of barely visible spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces bearing a couple of light marks together with a few small scratches.

VERY GOOD

Nice clean & unworn sounding disc with some minor vinyl background and an occasional click audible between tracks and on some of the quieter passages. There are no skips, repeats or any other major audible issues.

Cover: VERY GOOD +

The all-important front panel has been peeled professionally and very well. The panel is fully intact with no damage to the infamous image.

There is some wear to the seams which have had some repair work done on them and the spine text is no longer all present. There is minor wear to the corners but both opening edges are unworn and undamaged. The rear panel is clean with slight age-toning but no writing, sticker or missing paper.

Please look carefully at the images in the listing as they describe its condition much better than I can.

Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +

Clean & flat with no writing, tears or seam splits.
