Description

The Beatles' 1966 Mono "Yesterday and Today" 2nd State vinyl is a rare collector's item, known for its infamous "Butcher Cover" beneath a pasted-over "Trunk" image.

What Is a "2nd State" Butcher Cover?

  • The original cover featured the Beatles in butcher smocks with doll parts and raw meat — a satirical statement that was quickly recalled.

  • Capitol Records pasted a more conventional "Trunk" photo over the original.

  • A "2nd State" refers to copies where the Butcher cover is still underneath the pasted-over Trunk slick, unpeeled but often visible through the paper — especially around Ringo's sweater neckline (from Discogs)

The Vinyl, Cover and insert are all in Near Mint/Mint- condition.  Very little wear across the board!
