Description
An original 1st pressing of London Calling on the UK CBS label from 1979. Matrix (Side 1) A1/B1 [crossed out] replaced with 3A/3B then (Side 2) C2/D2. Please note - The Clash hurried the final London Calling track onto the end of Side 4 at the point of release. Covers had had already been printed and you will note from 1st Issues - 'Train In Vain' is not mentioned on the cover or record label. The only mention of it is in the deadwax "Track 5 is Train In Vain" - This is indicative of the very 1st pressing run. The vinyl comes housed in two inner sleeves and the original cover. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a number of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and in betweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is minimal. All we detected was a couple of crackles in the odd isolated place - i.e. very little at all. This is a very very fine playing copy and has really been looked after.
Cover (Ex-) In very nice condition and only showing some light handling wear front and back. Edge wear is light and the text on the spine is 100% intact. The rear has escaped most of the usual fading. Overall a very well preserved cover.
Inners (Vg+) Light ageing. No seam splits. Tiny tear at one opening.
