Surprised that this item didn’t go after attracting so much interest.

Never let it be said that I don’t offer a bargain now and again.

Fantastic condition copy of this rare Clash bootleg selection of demo tracks and rare recordings/out-takes.

This collection and title originally surfaced in 2013, marketed and distributed by the noted Belgian label, Arkain Filloux, and when you check the source for the copies that do crop up for sale, most appear to have ended up in the USA.

A couple of years later, another batch appeared, repackaged with new cover art and attributed to Swingshift Records UK. This copy is one of those UK re-issues.

It’s probably going to appeal mainly to Clash aficionados, so the following may be of some relevance.

It’s an unusual collection, as it features later recordings from the band’s output, out-takes from Sandinista and Combat Rock. Most Clash bootlegs contain early, raw studio demos from the Polydor sessions in 1977, or are produced from live gig performances.

This one has the unusual inclusion of demo versions of The Prisoner & White Man In Hammersmith Palais, which are quite distinctive and have subtle variations from their final official recordings.

Those demos must have been prepared for CBS before the infamous Vanilla sessions and have not been widely available to the best of my knowledge.

Fantastic condition too!

Artist: The Clash

Title: Ties On The Line (Demos and Rare Recordings)

Swingshift Records UK (2016?) No Catalogue Number

Matrix Numbers: Nothing on the sleeve, label or dead-wax. The only etched digits in the run-outs are the letters A/B on the appropriate sides.

Side 1: 1) The Prisoner, 2) White Man In Hammersmith Palais, 3) Overpowered By Funk, 4) House Of The JuJu Queen & 5) Cool Confusion

Side 2: 1) Know Your Rights, 2) Blonde Rock And Roll, 3) King Of The Road, 4) In The Pouring Rain & 5) Louie Louie

Vinyl: NM Stunning condition copy, looks brand new. (Please note, I never grade at Mint unless I can personally guarantee that a record has not been played from brand new) The vinyl is unmarked and has that new-vinyl lustre and sheen. I have play-tested it and the reproduction is fantastic. It’s also sounds like a professionally produced record too, with nice crisp sound across the entire range - so often missing from bootleg LPs.

Labels are plain red with black label text - nice and clean with no scuffs.

Sleeve: NM Superb condition cover. Gloss paper wraparound sleeve with black & white photo montage on a blue press-cuttings backdrop. The inner cover features a full-spread black & white photo - looks like one of Pennie Smith’s from 81/82.

Vinyl is housed in a plain white paper die-cut.

In summary, it’s a scarce Clash bootleg with rare demo versions of two classic 1978 releases, padded out with further later album out-takes.

Offered for sale at a giveaway start price, worth it just to hear Mick Jones camping it up even more than usual on the backing “ah-ahs” on Hammersmith Palais!!!

Happy to ship anywhere but GSP applies to overseas.

As always I offer a full no-quibble money-back guarantee if any winning bidder not satisfied.
