Description
These items are from my personal collection, accumulated over a 55-year period. This lot contains both the records and the sleeves. The sleeves have been stored without the records since my original purchase at the time of their release. Records and sleeves are visually graded, by me, based on Goldmine grading standards. I try to grade conservatively.
The Clash - Gates of the West/Groovy Times (US, Single, Epic, AE7 1178, Record Only, PROMO) The record is graded Excellent, with one light surface scratch across the vinyl of Side-A.
The Clash - The Cost of Living E.P. (UK, EP, CBS, 12-7324, Record/Gatefold Picture Sleeve, Original inner sleeve) External Sleeve is graded Excellent, with a minor bend in the upper right-hand corner. Internal sleeve also graded VG+, due to a fold in the upper and lower corners of the seam overlap. Otherwise, this sleeve would be M-.
The record is graded Excellent, based on a couple of cleanable fingerprints.
The Clash - Bankrobber/Rockers Galore...UK Tour (UK, Single, Record/Picture Sleeve, CBS, 8323) Sleeve is graded Excellent, with some light evidence of inner/outer-ring "presence". The record is graded VG+, with a couple of scuffs/light scratches on Side A.
The Clash - Complete Control/City of the Dead (UK, Single, Record/Picture Sleeve, CBS, 5664) Sleeve is graded M-. The record is graded M-, with a couple of cleanable blemishes.
The Clash - Know Your Rights/First Night Back in London (UK, Single, Record/Picture Sleeve, CBS, A 2309)
Sleeve is graded Excellent due to some light evidence of inner/outer-ring "presence".
The record is graded Excellent, with a cleanable blemish and some cleanable dust.
The Clash - Tommy Gun/1-2 Crush on You (UK, Single, Record/Picture Sleeve, CBS, 6788)
Sleeve is graded VG due to someone wrote "CBS 6788" in ink on the sleeve front and "50" on the inside edge of the front sleeve visible from the back sleeve, and there is some evidence of inner/outer-ring "presence". Without the writing, the sleeve would have been graded VG+ to Excellent.
The record is graded VG+, with a couple of light scratches and some cleanable fingerprints.
The Clash - London Calling/Armagideon Time (Holland, Single, Record/Picture Sleeve, CBS, 8087)
Sleeve is graded VG+ due to some wrinkling along the top edge, evidence of inner/outer-ring "presence", and a little wear at the bottom edge.
The record is graded VG+, with a couple of light scratches.
The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go/Cool Confusion (US, Single, Record/Picture Sleeve, Epic, 34-03547)
Sleeve is graded Excellent, with very minor wrinkling along the bottom edge of the sleeve.
The record is graded Excellent on the playing surfaces of both sides, with a light scratch in the trail-off vinyl of each. The record labels (both sides) are graded VG+ due to some "bubbling" underneath the paper labels.
The auction starting price is set to primarily cover postage and insurance. I believe in the free market system. My main interest is in getting these items into the hands of a serious collector. The law of supply and demand will take care of the rest.
