Recorded in 1960 w/ McGhee (tp), Tina Brooks (ts), Freddie Redd (p), Milt Hinton (b) and Osie Johnson (d). 

Seven original compositions by Redd.

 

Orginal copies have been long sought-after over the years by collectors; this absolutely beautiful Japanese reprint is the next best thing. I’m including a copy of the “head” to “Who Killed Cock Robin?” and a historically informative article about the Off-Broadway play. Which is a nice compliment to the fine, detailed liner notes by Alan Lorber.
