The Crickets - The "Chirping" Crickets
(Vogue/ Coral LVA 9081 UK LP 1958)
This is a 1958 UK original LP pressing. This is the very 1st UK pressing which has "Vogue Coral" labels. Only the very first pressing has Vogue Coral labels. This was quickly changed to having just "Coral" labels. These are quite rare.
It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has an extremely this spine. The spine text is on the rear sleeve - next to the spine. The rear flibacks have a rounded "half moon" die-cut centre. There is also a printing date on the bottom flipback "B&M 58/7". This means that the sleeve was printed in July 1958. Again, this is the earliest sleeve variation. It comes with its original company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press MG-6036-1B and MG-6037-1B matrix numbers.
Sleeve: Sadly the sleeve shows some considerable wear. There is a thin strip of tape stain which runs along the front sleeve opening. There is a 1 cm seam split at the top & bottom edge - at the sleeve opening. There is considerable rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is considerable rubbing wear to the centre of the spine. It has caused a 4 cm seam split in that area too. There are a few smaller areas of moderate rubbing wear to the top & bottom edges. There is some mild to more moderate rungwear. Fair+ condition
Vinyl: There are some light, mild or more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The paper inner sleeve has left some light, mild or very mild marks on the vinyl on some areas. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. There are 3 small & light hairline marks. Good++ condition. The labels are in VG++ condition & show mild or more moderate spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear & fading. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays VG to VG+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in the background to a varying degree. This is more noticeable in the quieter places. There are a couple of areas of more moderate crackle too. These do not last too long.
