Description

Up for sale is a very nice copy of a scarce single (7 inch, 45 RPM vinyl) with two great songs from a group that has been called "one of the most significant transitional groups that bridged the doo-wop and soul eras".  (Quoted from website of "allmusic".)

The Daylighters were formed in 1956 by a group of high school classmates at Hooper City High School in Birmingham, Alabama.  They moved to Chicago in 1959 and had some very significant success there.  The lineup for this record (in 1962) included:  Gerald Sims (lead), Charles Colbert, Eddie Thomas, Dorsey Wood, and George Wood.  Sims would go on to become an arranger, producer, and guitarist for Okeh Records.  Colbert would become a bassist for American Breed.  The Daylighters disbanded in 1965.
