Description

An original very 1st press of L>A>W on the UK Elektra label. A1/B1 - 1st cut. Note the 1st labels are quite distinctive - no sign of 'Made in UK' and the background colour is a mix of claret and green. The vinyl comes housed in an original round cornered cover with embossed band name. It has the perspex die-cut opening on the front. We have the original bespoke yellow Elektra inner sleeve. Super cool! So, we're 100% complete and 100% genuine. If audio is your primary concern...read on!
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In beautiful condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side, a couple of superficial scuffs - nothing heavy or likely to impinge on the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of deviations. Wow - this really is one sweet player. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Gotta love the Doors... one of the all time greats. And the 1st copies are really worth tracking down - who wants to compromise on the audio on such a classic title. Very nice clean player throughout. Remember there will be lots of low-key moments, Morrison doing his catcalls, and just that warbling bassline in the background. Low-key starts to L.A>Women >> don't risk a dud. Even the low-key bass notes in L'America, with Morrison whispering, play superbly clean. You'll need a fully tested copy which can deliver the goods - throughout. The only issues I'm picking out are a couple of ticks and a click in 'Love Her Madly'. And a couple of ticks in 'Down So Long' & two clicks midway through L'America. Overall a stellar rendition. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg) Not quite up to the quality of the vinyl - but it's still all original...the real deal. There's a bit of light surface wear in places - but better than many examples. There's a bit of edge wear - but no wear throughs. The perspex sheet is all intact and in place. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Wow, it's not often you seen an original copy with an inner sleeve looking this pristine. No tarnishing or surface wear - don't think I've ever seen better. Very little edge wear at all. A 1c.m. bottom edge split. Overall a truly impressive copy - and a REAL piece of art.
