Description

Strange Days 1st UK stereo issue from whilst charting (Dec'67). Matrix A1/B1. Please note earliest 1st pressings can be found without the newly installed Doors logo. But there was a fairly substantial label redesign as this album charted... Because they messed up the 1st copies quite badly. Initial copies arrived with bad track listing errors and incorrect publishing. A hasty revision saw this new design come in with the 1st use of the new Doors logo and publishing switched to copyright control. Use of this term should only be temporary and alludes to the fact that, whilst not a super early 1st press, this copy still arrives during the initial chart run. The very chunky vinyl comes housed in an original cover with narrow spine. No original inner*** what you see is a reproduction print sheet.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) A lovely copy and has only seen relatively light use. A few slight marks per side- nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one  deviation on side 2. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Hardly any sign of  background. Intro to Strange days is superb and plays clean as a whistle. As does the spoken word of 'HORSE'....absolutely superb. 'Moonlight' - is just epic...the slide guitar is just MAGIC. The odd static crackle on the run into 'MIND' and a couple of isolated ticks in a couple of spots. Nothing unpalatable. You can rely on this example to dish out some fantastic audio. And boy...the Doors really were a class act in every respect...HIGHLY recommended. If you like your audio top-dollar...this one needs serious consideration.
Cover (Vg+) Very nice and the heavy lamination has really helped, here. A couple of thumbnails on the front and a couple of creases back and front. Minimal edge wear - very tidy. Spine is 90%+ intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
