Description

Just recently I bought a massive collection of 60's and 70's LPs...some are in surprisingly immaculate condition, and some are not, but the original owner (a well-respected Australian vinyl hoarder) was a fastidious collector of the styles he loved - 60's beat/punk/garage, British invasion well-knowns [Beatles/Hollies/Dave Clark 5/Gerry & The Pacemakers/Zombies/Troggs/Rolling Stones, etc..], 70's West Coast sounds, pop-psych and he'd obviously forraged far and wide since there's a flurry of unique South American, New Zealand,Taiwanese, South African, Japanese releases amongst them all.

Here then, is one of the LPs from his collection:

"FRIENDS"…their fifth full studio LP (3rd UK LP)…UK pressing…original first press…1970…STEREO…on Polydor…(2482 010)…

Very first pressing with 2482010 A-1 1 1 1  / 2482010 B-1 1 1 1 matrix numbers in run-off grooves...

condition: [cover first, then record]: VG++ / VG++...very shiny vinyl!!...has a few light marks which cause a few very minor crackles only...plays VERY well !! ...

11 tracks, all are originals...

Labels are mint!...has only ONE spindle mark on one side....looks like it hasn't been played much at all....very nice copy!!...

...their last studio album...in the same way that the Masters Apprentices went from a tough garage-punk group to heavy prog/psych, so too did the Easybeats...perhaps not quite as ferocious as the Masters, but the quality of psych cuts like "Friends" and the psych-pop of "I Love Marie" can't be denied...even though it's not been as highly regarded as their Parlophone LPs, the album is full of very high quality stuff.
