Description
From my own collection that I'm down-sizing . . . this is a bundle of two singles and press cuttings for the Edinburgh band (The) Flowers, as featured in the Big Gold Dream film. I saw them supporting The Mekons in Autumn 1979 and after that bought both singles and kept the articles from Sounds and NME.
Confessions / [Life] After Dark
This is first single released by the band on the pop:aural label (POP 1). The textured sleeve is virtually perfect with just slight signs of handling. The only blemishes are a hint of ringwear and a very slight crease top front (pictured). The vinyl is shiny with just of couple of very light surface rubbings. I will have played it a handful of times when I bought it so it's not quite mint. I've just checked now using a Pro-ject deck and both sides play perfectly with no jumps or clicks. There is just a touch of the usual vinyl crackle on the intro/outros which is not audible during the tracks.
Ballad of Miss Demeanour / Food / Tear Along
This is second single (POP 003). The sleeve is printed on thick paper and the only blemishes are a hint of ringwear and signs of slight handling on the open edge. The vinyl is shiny and looks like new, but I played it a couple of times when I bought it so it's not quite mint. I've just checked both sides now and they play perfectly, again with just a touch of the usual vinyl crackle on the intro/outros.
Press Articles
The two full-page articles you see are taken from NME (8th March, 1980) by Paul Morley, and Sounds (March 15, 1980) by Dave McCullough.
Everything will be packaged very well and sent out quickly.
