About The Focus:


Merry, while she was a member of the Lce Abbey Community in Devon (a Christian Lay Community, staffing a holiday centre), took part regularly in presenting programmes of Folk Songs. These, together with readings, provided a unique form of entertainment, illustrating all shades of life, love, humour, loneliness, faith. Thought-provoking songs were always included in an attempt to show the relevance of faith in all aspects of life. The Focus was formed in September, 1969, when Merry, Rosic and Alan felt they would like to present similar prog-rammes to a wider audience. Nell, Chris and Steve joined soon after and The Focus performed before vastly differing groups of people. They have sung at schools, colleges, churches, youth clubs. ., taken part in a Harvest Weekend in Swindon and sung at the 1970 Lee Abbey Reunion in Westminster Central Hall.
