Grodeck Whipperjenny on People PS 3000 Stereo.
"Grodeck Whipperjenny" Cover is in VG- condition.
(the cover has some issues. the top seam is split just about
all of the way starting from the opening. and there is a 6"
seam split on the bottom seam starting at the opening. the cover
also has a bunch of small spots where paper has peeled off.
please look at the pictures to see) The record is in VG++ to
Near Mint condition. (very nice copy. the record looks practically
un-played and the labels are very clean also with no spindle marks
either) This LP is a promo copy and this is the original pressing
from 1970 of this mega rare funky psych fuzz LP!! The leader of
the group was an arranger and writer for the James Brown band.

The Grodeck Whipperjenny were wolves in sheep attire: a Cincinnati-based group of jazz musicians flexing their rock chops under the auspices of future CTI artist and Grodeck leader David Matthews, who at the time was serving as arranger and writer for the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. The band's lone 1970 release exists in the sonic hinterland between Funkadelic-style psychedelic soul and a distinctly soulful prog rock that shares some territory with Brian Auger and Norman Whitfield's Motown productions. The soupy results are truly sublime with funky tracks like "Sitting Here on a Tongue" coasting on Kenny Poole's fuzz guitar and Jimmy Madison's insistent drums that surely made Brown, who gets his requisite "A James Brown Production" credit, proud. The proceedings get even harder and heavier with the lysergic caveman stomp of "Put Your Thing on Me" and "Why Can't I Go Back." Matthews gets to strut his arranging stuff on the string-heavy "Conclusions" and takes his Hammond for a ride on the trippy "Evidence for the Existence of the Unconscious." It's a wild ride, and not to be missed.

MINT – record looks new and perfect looking. Not many records make this grade.
NEAR MINT – record is ‘like new” very clean with only possibly the most minor and superficial of marks.
VG++ record has only very minor surface marks and wear and is in excellent condition.
VG+ record shows some surface marks but the record is still in relatively good shape. no feel-able scratches
VG record shows a fair amount of wear. may have feel-able scratches
G record shows excessive wear.
