1967 original release, ““A VINTAGE EXCLUSIVE””SUPER rare, and considered to be the most difficult to locate. The rarest Kinks album release .In 1967 , the LP on its market launch, did not shine with the fans and sold in low quantities, so was quickly deleted , hence the apparent rarity! Also has been blessed with the scarce MISPRINT on the run off grooves of the vinyl !! Amazing discovery and exceptionally rare .Impossible and one for the serious vinyl enthusiast!
Mono versions are the one to acquire and are far more valued in the collectors’ arena than the stereo sister version. The stereo records are more cheaper (see RRPG catalogue) and are not so highly sought after from this particular release.
Very FIRST mono pressing, of this sensational Kinks album release . Highly polished vinyl . Incredible aural delivery . Rare opportunity to own this monster, heavy weight slab with the corrected matrix . One of the few examples with this rare error!
A-1 * M B-1*M
The scarce error is found on run off grooves of the vinyl and read:
NMPL 18193 A-1*M The M is deleted against cat.no.
NMPL 18193 B-1*M The M is deleted as above
Also and in addition to the above, MPL-18193B1*M is found in the run off of the vinyl and is completely crossed out by hand!!!! MEGA RARE and is seriously hard to find with the matrix corrected !!!
Mother stampers are difficult to see, but if one angles against a strong light, one can detect F and H respectively, and of course the first tax codes KT, are also found on both sides. A seriously rare exhibit indeed!
Unlaminated, single, first issue G&L, patents pending text, with UNDAMAGED flip backs on reverse. Decent example of a fragile sleeve and in very good/- condition . A solid and square spine, showing some wear. Corner scuffs. Edge wear on top, with minimal damage on lower edge. Light feathering to opening edge. Pin holes on top left corner. The silver coloration is preserved, with minor fading on outer faces. Very minor creasing and a clean reverse.
Light ring wear on outer faces. No serious rips, nor tears, nor any unwanted graffiti. A fine example!
Vinyl
Thick cut, heavy weight ,monster slab and a pleasure to view. What a tremendous feel to this vintage, heavy weight classic . The surfaces have a mirror like sheen , glass like and highly polished, and many of the surface marks disappear beneath its staggering reflection. If angled against a strong light, several longer hairlines are visible, with a few, light surface marks/odd scratch. Very good visual .
Labels- PINK PYE format, 1st issue labels, in excellent condition, with a few spindle lines visible . No graffiti, no rips nor tears, no damage of any kind.
Audio
It plays superbly . Tones remain crisp and clear. Monotone delivery heard with little distortion detected.
Side 1
No major sound disturbances. No distinctive audible scratches. Mostly clear channels. At least a very good /+ delivery, and considerable better in some parts.
Side 2
There is a tremendous depth of sound, as the tones are delivered in sensational style, with a concise definition and a razor sharp edge. There is a tiny scratch, located between Tr2+3. A further light scratch is detected, producing a few faint ticks, but one has to listen very hard through the music and hardly affects the delivery. Tones rise above any disturbance to convey a very good audio (strict grading applies as per RRPG catalogue).Considerably better in some parts ! Should not disappoint.
A very collectable , highly priced album. Becoming harder to locate and almost impossible to find in this condition .
