Description

An original 1st press of PISCES on UK RCA from 1967. Matrix 1K/1K. Stampers 1A/1-BM [great audio provenance]. Please note the label exhibit the Decca deep groove - these are the 1st issues. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover with pinched spine. We also have the Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In great shape and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT with one slight deviation. What is impressive copy is the level of clean playing. I can't tell you how many original copies are out there that play distinctly average. Due to the low-key jingle-jangle audio the Monkees produce it seems to be very susceptible to interference and background. But I am pleased to report that this example is as clean a player as I've ever witnessed. Beautiful acoustics - and you will be able to witness the integrity in the audio and some fantastic reproduction. Barely a whiff of background. Perhaps a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side. I detect one isolated tick in SALESMAN. But other than expect a terrific rendition.
Cover (Ex-) Again, original examples are not hard to find - not at all. But what tends to be tricky with the cover is to find one that hasn't aged. And this copy is really in very well preserved condition. There is no ageing observable o the front - just one crease top right corner. The rear - miraculously - has almost no signs of ageing. This is quite unusual. Very little edge wear with nice firm sharp openings. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Quite a bit of ageing. Bag present. No splits.
