Description

An original 2nd issue of DOFP on the UK Deramic label from early 1969. Matrix 2W/1W. Stampers 1-BK/1-BU. Please note label design is consistent with an early copy from this period as the 'all rights..' statement can be found at the foot of the label, and importantly the tape-number is inverted. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Clout & Baker cover with pinched spine. Also included is the original Decca company inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two slight deviations. A beautiful rendition particularly considering that the audio is largely orchestral in nature. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side, and a couple of ticks in the intro to 'Knights Of White Satin' and then again in the monologue at the end. Overall an impressive rendition. 
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been cared for down the years. A lovely shiny unaged front cover with barely a crease. The rear seems to have escaped the usual ageing issues - just a touch of handling. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is 100% intact and the cover retains perfect rigidity. 
Inner (Ex) Lightest ageing. But no splits.
