Description

An original 1st press of ISOTLC on the UK Decca label from 1968. Matrix 1W/1W - very 1st cut. Please note that the tape number is inverted and the 'All Rights..' statement runs at the foot of the label - all indicative of 1st issue. Also note the DEEP GROOVE - this can only be found on the very earliest 1st pressings from summer 1968. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 'mono' Robert Stace cover with the pocket added to the cover on the right hand panel. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve date coded to "078". And this translates to April 1968 - a couple of months prior to 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks - nothing heavy or troublesome.  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of play with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are verging on silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. As anyone will know who is familiar with this title it is one of THE hardest to find that will deliver a proper clean rendition. The audio is incredibly fussy and any background will soon invade and interfere with the listening experience. I'm pleased to report this is as clean a copy that I've witnessed, and from a true 1st...that's quite a find. Interference is both very minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few light crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. Nothing remotely invasive. Nothing persistent. And then one single tick in "OM"...that's your lot..It's a great player in the original mono format and the audio is knock-out.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Oooohhh so close to a full Ex+ which would be miraculous, but there's a tiny crease down in the bottom right corner [Damn it!..haha]. Lovely solid flat shiny front cover which exhibits nothing more than that one crease in the bottom corner. The rear looks great too without a crease, and barely a whiff of ageing. The interior is in very unusual condition because there's only super light evidence of ageing at the extremities...and I can't begin to tell you how unusual that is on this title. Edge wear is very light for this title with the opening card sheet still sharp and firm. The spine is 100% intact - no kidding at all... it is PERFECT! Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. A truly marvellous specimen and I don't think we'll be seeing another one in this league for some time.
Inner (Ex) No splits, very little ageing at all. Nice/!
